Hiking in Hot Springs National Park

Hot Springs National Park has over 26 miles of trails winding through the Ouachita Mountains, most of them starting just minutes from the Gold-Inn. You don't need a car for the closest ones.

Balanced Rock Trail: 0.8 mi, easy. A short loop to a striking quartz formation. Trailhead is a 10-minute walk from the inn.

Goat Rock Trail: 1.6 mi, moderate. Follows a ridge with open views over the city and the park's forested hills.

Gulpha Gorge Trail: 2.0 mi, moderate. Runs along the creek through a shaded gorge. Good in summer when the canopy keeps it cool.

Hot Springs Mountain Trail: 4.0 mi, moderate. Loops around the mountain and connects to the observation tower at the top. Allow 2 hours.

Trails are open year-round. No permit needed. Dogs are welcome on leash. We keep a trail map at the front desk, ask before you head out.
